The Houston Land Water Sustainability Forum (HLWSF) recently held an area wide design competition centered on low impact development. The competition was broken up into three categories including a Green Roadway Design Challenge, Urban Redevelopment Design Challenge, and a Suburban Residential Design Challenge. Jones & Carter, Inc. teamed with Kerry R. Gilbert & Associates, Inc., KGA/DeForest Design, and MCA Architects to compete in the Suburban Residential Design Challenge. In December 2009, 22 teams submitted design packages spanning the three design challenges. Of these 22 packages, the team that included Jones & Carter, Inc. was chosen as one of only three finalists in the Suburban Residential Design Challenge. Though our team was not ultimately selected as the winner, we appreciated the opportunity to participate in the LID Design Competition and be chosen as one of the top contenders. Each finalist was invited to present their design presentation to the Forum's jury panel. Presentations were limited to seven minutes with PowerPoint presentations required to run automatically in the background without the control of one of the team members. For a preview of the our team's presentation please click the cover on the left and wait for the file to download. We hope you enjoy our presentation as much as we enjoyed working on it and being a part of the HLWSF LID Competition. |
