Fort Bend County WC&ID No. 2 - Lift Station No. 6

The purpose of the Pump Station No. 6 and Force Main project was to provide relief to a trunk sanitary sewer line which became surcharged during peak flow periods. To accomplish this, the flow of wastewater was rerouted to discharge to another trunk line which had excess capacity. The scope of the project included construction of 6,572 feet of force main, abandonment of approximately 500 feet of the existing force main, and replacement of the existing self-priming pumps with submersible pumps suited to the new duty conditions associated with the longer force main. The existing wet well was retained and a new wet well was constructed adjacent to it to provide additional volume and space for additional pumps.

A new reinforced concrete top slab was constructed and the entire site was fenced and paved. Additionally, the existing belowground control panel was replaced with one that was accessible from the new top slab.
