Pecan Grove Levee Improvements
Jones & Carter, Inc. represents a number of Municipal Utility Districts (MUD) as their District Engineer, managing all aspects of engineering that pertain to the MUD. As the District Engineer for Pecan Grove MUD, we were already evaluating their levee system prior to the FEMA levee improvements project. We determined that the preliminary 2007 FEMA map and hydrologic model updates would require the Pecan Grove Levee System to be raised in order to meet FEMA's three-foot (3') of freeboard requirement. In addition to raising the height of the existing levee, this project included creating a master interior drainage plan and an operations and maintenance (O&M) manual for the entire levee system. The submitted information was approved by FEMA based on the current effective model for Fort Bend County.
