Santa Fe & Ahldag Outfall Ditches

Jones & Carter, Inc. completed the design and supervised construction of approximately 3.0 miles of channel in order to alleviate flooding issues within the City of Wharton, Texas. Roughly 2.5 miles of channel was used to route excess runoff south to the Colorado River and approximately 0.5 miles of channel was utilized to create a flow path for runoff to Baughman Slough on the north side of the City. The channel design included two crossings of Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) roads and the installation of a flap gate and sluice gate at the outfall.
