American National Power Midlothian Power Plant
American National Power retained Jones & Carter, Inc. to perform design, surveying, and construction management services for the development of this 1,600-megawatt combined cycle gas-fired power generation facility. We were involved in site selection and surveying necessary for air quality modeling and the acquisition of an air quality permit.
Upon site selection, we performed a boundary and topographic survey of the 88-acre site and were responsible for the rerouting and abandonment of both electrical and telephone easements that traversed the site. Jones & Carter, Inc. was responsible for survey and route selection for two high voltage transmission lines and two high-pressure gas lines, as well as the design for the extension of 2,800 linear feet of waterline for construction water. In order to facilitate the delivery of super-heavy gas turbines and generators, we designed and managed the construction of 8,800 linear feet of Johnson County road upgrades along with a complete drainage system.
Additionally, Jones & Carter, Inc. provided construction inspection services on all civil related issues. We have provided design and construction phase services on a 25,000 sf maintenance building, a transformer and generator storage yard, and the site landscaping and irrigation system.
