Sam Houston Toll Road
Beltway 8 & IH 45 in Houston, Texas

Jones & Carter, Inc. completed three projects for the Harris County Toll Road Authority in Houston, Texas. The first included the design and plan preparation for the complex Sam Houston Toll Road (Beltway 8) main lane bridge over US-59 South. This prestressed concrete beam bridge is six lanes wide and 5,212-feet long.

Jones & Carter, Inc. also designed and prepared the plans including the drainage system for the main lanes of the Sam Houston Toll Road, Segment 17 project, between Wayside Drive and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The third project Jones & Carter, Inc. designed and prepared the plans for was the IH-45 rehabilitation project from Green Road to Rankin Road. This project included the design of main lanes, frontage roads, HOV lanes, exit and entrance ramps, three bridges over Greens Bayou, utility relocation along the I-45 frontage road, and the design of the traffic control plans for the main lanes as well as the frontage roads.

All of the above projects were prepared using TxDOT design criteria and specifications, and the projects were reviewed and approved by TxDOT personnel.
