Summerwood Water Plant

Summerwood is a 1,500-acre master planned community located in northeast Harris County and within the extra territorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston. It is comprised of three municipal utility districts (MUD)—Harris County MUD Nos. 342, 344, and 361. Jones & Carter, Inc. currently services as the District Engineer for all three districts.

Jones & Carter, Inc. has designed and constructed a water plant facility, a 1.0 MGD wastewater treatment plant facility, and three sanitary sewer lift stations. We also provided construction management and field project representation services for these projects.

In 2006 Summerwood's water distribution system was connected with the Northeast Water Purification Plant (NEWPP) operated by the Houston Area Water Corporation (HAWC), which is located directly adjacent to the HCMUD No. 344 water plant. The approximately $1,150,000 project included the construction of 16", 24", and 36" waterlines to provide the surface water tie-in.
