West Harris County Regional Water Authority Contract 10
The West Harris County Regional Water Authority’s (WHCRWA) Contract 10 consisted of approximately 3.25 miles of 12-inch through 36-inch water transmission lines.
Jones & Carter, Inc. provided the preliminary engineering design, all phases of design and construction engineering, designed each interconnect to three (3) Utility District’s water plant sites located along the project’s alignment, designed the electrical layout for each District connection, obtained Harris County permits for the subsurface utility locations of the high-pressure gas lines, obtained approvals for crossings of Harris County roadways, Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) drainage channels, and several high pressure gas lines, and prepared an extensive design report.
A portion of the 36-inch transmission line section of the project was located within the right-of-way of Langham Creek. This alignment consisted of two channel crossings and a crossing of the five (5) high-pressure gas lines. The design of these crossings required approximately 420 feet of 36-inch transmission lines with a flowline that was 23-feet deep and 28-feet deep in order to cross both the channel and the gas pipelines respectively.
