Take a Trip for a Twisted Christmas

Scream Hollow, traditionally a 20-acre Halloween Park, is throwing a family-friendly, Twisted Christmas. One of the only attractions in Texas with a live reindeer exhibit, Twisted Christmas is a winter wonderland by day and haunted by Krampus by night. Come to enjoy the food, outdoor movies, and some of your favorite Christmas characters and stay to be haunted by the scariest Christmas lore.

Spend Christmas at the Capitol

Every year the Texas State Capitol lights up a tree at the south gates of the Capitol lawn on Congress Avenue (11th Street and Congress Avenue). There is also a 23-foot, Texas-grown tree set up in the House Chamber throughout the holiday season. This tree is covered in ornaments decorated by an artist hand selected by Texas House Members to create a visual representation of what makes their District so special to them.

Follow the Trail of Lights

Since 2012, the Austin Trail of Lights has been one of the top three events in Austin boasting more than 400,000 people in attendance in 2017. With food trucks, live performances, arts and crafts, and a marketplace for holiday shopping, the Trail of Lights is a one-stop-holiday-shop, and a well-lit one at that.

Check out the Austin Symphony at the Austin Public Library

Named one of the greatest places in the world by Time Magazine, the Austin Public Library has many great reasons to stop by for a visit. On 12/20 the Austin Symphony Big Band will be playing jazzy renditions of holiday favorites. Sit back and let your ears be filled with the sounds of the season.

Enjoy Mozart’s Coffee Holiday Lightshow

For some, Mozart’s Coffee Holiday Light Show has become a tradition, for everyone else it should probably be on your list of things to experience this holiday season. With more than a million LED lights and a show featuring your favorite holiday tunes, it is a beautiful place to spend some time with a hot beverage and maybe even a delicious pastry.
