Construction on Missouri City’s Best Buy Distribution and Logistics Facility was completed in July of 2018. The facility is located on the corner of Cravens Road and Highway 90A near Beltway 8 in Missouri City. The new warehouse is slated to create at least 40 full-time jobs for the community.

Jones|Carter developed designs for the approximately 550,000 square-foot cross-dock industrial facility, which will serve as a delivery distribution center. Products will be housed in this facility for shipment to approximately 60 Best Buy stores in Texas and Louisiana as well as directly to customers’ homes.

The scope of work included designs for water, sanitary sewer, drainage, two interconnected detention ponds, onsite paving, and an offsite roadway that will connect to Beltway 8. With the design commencing after Hurricane Harvey, the biggest hurdle was Missouri City’s requirements for more in-depth detention analyses from the initial approved drainage study. To ensure deadlines were met, the J|C team produced a grading permit package while the detention analysis was ongoing, which kept construction moving forward while the drainage permits were being approved.

J|C staff also performed a traffic impact analysis of the area, which will help ensure that traffic will continue to operate safely and efficiently once the doors of the facility are open.
