Jones|Carter worked alongside the City of College Station to replace and upgrade existing motor control centers and their associated feeders at the Carter’s Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. These improvements allow for greater reliability and easier procurement of spare parts.
Jones|Carter is working alongside the Midlothian Development Authority (MDA) on the design plans for the reconstruction of approximately 1.5 miles of V.V. Jones Road from State Highway 67 to Power Way. Currently a two-lane, asphalt road, once complete, the roadway will be a major arterial roadway. V. V. Jones is located on the western edge of the Railport Business Park in Midlothian.
Jones|Carter teamed with Saint Arnold Brewing Company (SABC) to provide Site Development services for the new Saint Arnold Restaurant and Beer Garden. The restaurant is an addition to their existing brewery located north of Katy Freeway and west of Mary Street in downtown Houston. A 20,800 square-foot, single-story building, the restaurant and beer garden includes both covered and uncovered areas overlooking the Houston skyline.
Jones|Carter provided surveying services for Carter Ranch, a 14,669-acre working cattle ranch located in both Leon and Freestone Counties along the Trinity River. Large portions of the ranch had not been surveyed since the late 1800s when the land was cut from the sovereign of Texas. The J|C team surveyed 29 separate tracts, including 2.2 miles of railroad right-of-way, 16.2 miles of river, and approximately 50 adjoining properties within the allotted 30-day timeline.
Jones|Carter is working alongside Kirksey Architecture on Phase One of the State of Texas Capitol Complex 2018 Master Plan. Updated biennially, the Texas Capitol Master Plan strives to meet state office space needs, highlight the importance of the state capitol, and create a pedestrian-friendly environment. Phase One includes two new buildings, five levels of underground parking, and three blocks for a new pedestrian mall on Congress Avenue.
In 2014, Jones|Carter was contracted by Johnson Development to perform civil services for a new community in Richmond. The Harvest Green community is a 1,055-acre master-planned community centered around a 12-acre working farm. Harvest Green is a sustainable development utilizing bio-swales among other features to promote green living.
Each year South by Southwest Festivals & Conferences, better known as SXSW, hosts a festival in Downtown Austin. In 2016, SXSW announced their intent to build a new headquarters in Austin. Jones|Carter is providing surveying, site design, and utility engineering for the 12-story, 145,000 square foot building. The headquarters will include office, restaurant, and retail space, as well as five floors dedicated to parking. The development is targeting a LEED Gold certification. The project limits are Lavaca, 14th Street, and Guadalupe Street. Located along 14th Street are several large heritage oaks, that quickly became a main focal point of the project. The architect designed the building in a serpentine shape to preserve the heritage trees.
Jones|Carter has served as the Program Manager for City of Houston TIRZ 5, otherwise known as Memorial Heights Redevelopment Authority (MHRA) since 2015. MHRA was established in 1996 to provide the necessary plans and programs to support the projected growth in the Memorial Heights and White Oak Bayou recreational corridor. The MHRA is primarily focused on reconstruction of public infrastructure that encourages economic growth through private redevelopment. In 2015, annexation resulted in MHRA’s ability to begin improvements focused on the long-term stability and the viability of the area.
Jones|Carter has served as Program Manager for the City of Houston’s Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 11, otherwise known as N. Houston Development Corp. (NHDC), since 2006. The NHDC was created in 1998 to facilitate development and redevelopment in the Greenspoint area.
Jones|Carter has served as Construction Manager for Springwoods Village since 2013. Springwoods Village is a 2,000-acre master planned community located within the Harris County Improvement District 18, just south of The Woodlands and 20 miles north of downtown Houston. The J|C team has had staff located onsite since 2013.
