The Reserve at Lake Travis
Client: Hal Jones Development / Reserve at Lake Travis, LLC
Service: Staking/GPS/Platting, Recreation
Location: Austin, Texas
Jones|Carter provided complete surveying services for The Reserve at Lake Travis in Austin. The Reserve is Lake Travis’ ultimate gated, waterfront community that features more than three miles of shoreline, the deepest marina, a private club, an equestrian center, and a swim park.
At the onset of the project, the J|C team encountered a deed line that went to what was the south bank of the Colorado River, which is now inundated by Lake Travis. A portion of the project then had to be purchased directly from the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), who would only sell the land that was above the 670-contour line.
The team utilized LCRA Bathymetry data along with old maps that were created when the lake was originally built to establish the boundary. J|C coordinated aerial topography and used resulting data along with on-the-ground verification to establish the new boundary of what would become the Reserve at Lake Travis.
Additional surveying services provided by the J|C team included boundary and design surveying, platting, and construction surveying for nearly a decade on the prestigious 280-acre private community. Additionally, easement descriptions, condominium plats and plans, elevation certificates, as-built surveys, and marina layout have contributed to the success of the project.
