UTSA Recreation Center

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) replaced an outdated pool facility at the university’s Recreation Wellness Center. The new facility, which sits on a 2.31-acre plat, offers UTSA students a new 60,000-gallon leisure pool and an 8-lane lap pool. Student will also be able to peruse the new sidewalks, take in new landscaping, play in the sand volleyball pit and rest under shaded structures.
The site required several improvements, including the demolition of the existing pools, landscape, hardscape, and drainage. Jones|Carter coordinated with the consultant team to ensure project deadlines were met during the schematic design, design development, and construction documents phases. Our team also oversaw the budget, prepared civil specifications and provided Water Pollution Prevention Plan (WPAP) research and coordination with TCEQ.
