Jones|Carter provided site development and surveying services for Western Power Sports’ 180,000 square-foot distribution facility in Midlothian. Western Power Sports is located within the Railport Business Park where J|C has provided engineering services for infrastructure and site development projects for more than 20 years. J|C’s knowledge of the area and relationships with the City of Midlothian and the Midlothian Development Authority were beneficial to Western Power Sports throughout the development process.
When the budget experienced a potential setback, the J|C team was able to recommend a feasible solution. The original geotechnical engineer specified a larger scope of soil excavation beneath the proposed distribution facility than was anticipated, which impacted the client’s budget. J|C assisted the client in obtaining additional geotechnical recommendations for the excavation beneath the facility and provided vital assistance in value engineering the project based upon the new recommendations. As a result, the project came in at the client’s original budget and was successfully completed.
Jones|Carter prepared the boundary survey, platted the property, and determined cut fill calculations. The team also designed the paving, water, wastewater, and drainage for the project.
