The growing population of Universial City caused it to outgrow its previous library. Following the demolition of the former facility, the new Universal City Public Library and a parking area for an adjacent park were constructed on the same site as the previous structure. The 10,178 square-foot facility boasts over 23,000 books, study rooms, a “quiet room” and a public meeting space large enough for 125 people. The new facility also features a connection between the adjacent park and the library so park-goers can easily access the facility and vice versa.
Jones|Carter provided design, survey and construction phase services for the project. Our team developed a site grading plan, utility connection plan, fire protection plan and a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPP). We also relocated a playground, provided off-site construction phase services management and utility easement release.
