Sean McMillan to Host Cybersecurity Webinar for the AWBD

05.18.2020

DURATION 2 minute read

Following the passing of House Bill 3834, most local and state employees are required to complete cybersecurity training by early June. Earlier this year, Sean McMillan, PE, Senior Control Systems Engineer and ISA/99 certified Cybersecurity Expert created and certified an HB 3834 compliant course catered to water district directors and other municipal leaders.

Sean, in partnership with the Association of Water Board Directors (AWBD), will be teaching a one-hour Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) certified cybersecurity training program on May 27th to help local leaders meet these training requirements before the June 14th deadline.

The webinar is specifically tailored for water district directors and is open to members and non-members of the AWBD. Members are welcome to attend the live webinar while non-members will have access to an on-demand version of the one-hour program.

Sean has worked with water district directors and other municipal leaders for more than 20 years and understands the valuable data they are responsible for safeguarding. His “Cybersecurity Basic Training” will equip participants with the skills they need to develop proactive security habits and protect the community from cyber threats.
